If you are interested in adopting a Dalmatian from us there are a few steps that need to be followed:
1: If you see a dog that you are interested in please go to the link for Adoption Application in the Forms section to the left, fill out the application and e-mail it back to us.
2: We will review your application and, if approved or if we have further questions, will get back to you usually within 24-48 hours to make an appointment to meet the dog and schedule a homecheck, but since we do this in our spare time it may take longer. We apologize if this is the case.
3. Even though we try to be as complete in our descriptions of the dogs if you need any additional information please call our hotline at 866.966.9987, Ext. 1 and leave a message.
4. A sliding scale is used for adoption donations and it depends on the dog's age. $250 for puppies (2-12 months), $175 for adults (1-7 years-old), and $125 for seniors (8 years or older). The donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. We do not distinguish between purebred or mixed in the fees as all are worth their weight in gold. A completed adoption application, signed contract and home check will be needed before your Dalmatian can go home with you. The dog will also have an inital temperment evaluation in which we will know if the dog is good with other dogs, cats, and children.
5. Falsification of any information on the adoption application will result in the immediate termination of the adoption and the dog will have to be returned to SWDR.
Remember, we are familiar and get to know every single dog that comes through our rescue..they are not just a number. So when you adopt a dog from us you are adopting one of our family members and all are very special to us. And lastly, thank you for your interest!
IMPORTANT: Due to our limited resources, we can not adopt out of the state of Arizona at this time. If you happen to reside out of state please locate a rescue in your area for available dogs, or, better yet, if you wish to volunteer to help us with homechecks and follow-up visits in your area we would consider adopting a dog outside Arizona. We are looking into expanding into other areas of the Southwest soon but for now only Arizona. Thanks!
